School Profile

“The school is the community and the community is the school.”
--Richard W. Riley, Secretary of Education, 2002

College View School, a public school in the Glendale Unified School District, was opened in 1977 to provide special education services to an extraordinary group of students. Through the Foothill Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), College View provides services to students in Glendale, Burbank, and La Cañada including specialized instruction in functional academics, life skills, communication, socialization, and motor skills. Our 8 classrooms serve students ranging in age from 3 to 22 with moderate to severe cognitive and physical disabilities. College View’s total number of students ranges between 70 and 96 students.

We take pride in knowing each individual student and preparing them for the next stage in their education. In 2008, 15 students were transitioned to general education campuses.

Placement at College View School is by virtue of the Individual Education Plan process. College View School is part of the Foothill SELPA program that serves students who reside in the Glendale, Burbank, and La Cañada school districts.
